Dear All,

We have received several inquiries about the recent disaster in Hungary and deeply appreciate your concern about the effect on both the population and the environment. Graphic photographs in the international media have stunned and saddened concerned citizens around the world: on October 4th, the wall of a reservoir at an alumina plant in Hungary collapsed, unleashing a flood of toxic red sludge that so far has killed 7 people and injured more than 120, according to the Hungarian government's spokesperson. Several towns were virtually destroyed, displacing hundreds of residents, who probably will never be able to return home.

Part of the concern has been whether the fields where our herbal ingredients are grown have been affected by this catastrophe. Our Hungarian manufacturer's and their long time organic partners' organic fields are anywhere from 75 to 100 miles (120-160 kms) from the affected area and the lands are in the opposite direction to the creek and river flows, which are the concern in terms of the toxins spreading beyond the immediate area. In addition, this year's harvest is almost complete - 99% of the herbs, fruits and vegetables have been hand-processed into pulps already.

Our company has already provided financial support to the victims of the catastrophe.
